Who We Are

Sabaya Shack is a Somali restaurant located at 2285 St. Laurent Blvd, Ottawa,(take out style) specializing in halal Somali-style wraps and comfort dishes made fresh daily. Our menu highlights include sabaayad flatbread wraps, marinated grilled chicken and lamb, and bold East African spices that set us apart from typical fast-casual dining.

We do plenty of catering orders for weddings, office parties and funerals. We serve customers looking for authentic, filling, and affordable meals.

Sabaya Shack was founded to introduce authentic yet Somali cuisine in Ottawa, combining traditional recipes with fresh, high-quality halal ingredients.

Our vision is to become a go-to destination for flavorful Somali food, known for our signature sabaaya wraps, grilled meats, sambusas and warm hospitality. We aim to create an experience that reflects culture, community, and consistency in every meal.

WHAT IS HALAL FOOD?

Halal is an Arabic word that translates to “permitted”. Halal food is that which adheres to Islamic law, as defined in the Quran.

IS YOUR FOOD ZABIHA HALAL?

Our Halal Certifications page provides Halal certificates for chicken and beef gyro, which covers the entire US and Canada. If you have further questions, please send us a message through the Contact Us Page.

HOW DOES YOUR REWARDS PROGRAM WORK?

Once you’re enrolled, eating at The Halal Guys earns you points (you’ll get them automatically if you order through your app or online account, or you can use your phone to scan your user code at the register).
